Waterford Kettering High School (WKHS) is a public high school in the Waterford School District. Beginning the 08-09 school year, 1,617 students are enrolled in the school.

History

Campus

The football stadium, known as The Shipyard, is natural grass and has stands for approximately 1250 fans. Each of the school's two gymnasiums hold stands that can seat 900 for basketball games.

The Performing Arts Center, completed in 2005, has band and choir suites with have full sound systems, projector screens, and fully acoustic design implemented in the ceilings and walls.

Athletics

Waterford Kettering fields teams in baseball, basketball, bowling, cheerleading, cross country, football, golf, hockey, lacrosse, skiing, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track, volleyball and wrestling. The teams are known as the Captains. With the exception of the swim team which is Waterford United.

Music

Waterford Kettering has several musical ensembles: three concert bands, two jazz bands and a jazz combo, the Marching Captains marching band, a concert orchestra, a symphony orchestra, a chamber orchestra and a contemporary music ensemble. The WK orchestras performed at Disney Magic Music Days in 2003 and 2007.
