Petar Georgiev Kalica is a composer from Bitola, Republic of Macedonia, born on 15 November 1951. He had first contacts with music in Secondary music school in Bitola. During his music education he was taking part in many bands in his native town Bitola. His first major success was on the Macedonian festival "Valandovo" in 1989, where he participated like an author of the song "Ako odam vo Bitola" ("If I go to Bitola), performed by Oktet "Makedonija". For this song Petar Georgiev Kalica won the third prize from the jury. This song is one of the most famous song written about the town Bitola ever and the lyrics is about Bitola's old tradition. "Ako odam vo Bitola" is used in making many documentaries and music events dedicated to Bitola. Taking into conscideration the fact that this song is still popular,cover of this song was made by the most famous Macedonian music star Tose Proeski on his ethno album "Bozilak" ("Rainbow"2007). This cover was totally different style from the original song ,but it was accepted excellent by the audience.The year 1989 was time for another great music success on the best ranked Macedonian pop festival "Makfest", where he participated like an author of the smash Macedonian hit "Letaj mi letaj gulabe" ("Fly, my dove") performed by the Croatian famous singer Krunoslav Kicho Slabinac. This song won the second place, because the first place missed for only one vote from the audience. On this festival he won the prize for the best lyrics for this song. Even this song didn'win, this song is still popular.

In 1991, he wrote maybe his most famous song "Stariot dzumbushlija" performed by the famous Serbian folk singer Ana Bekuta, on the festival "Valandovo" 91'. This song was ranked 4th and missed 3rd place for 3 votes. This was smash hit in Macedonia and next year this song won the prize "The most listened song from the audience".

The same year, he took part on "Makfest" 91' like a composer of the song "Rozite pak se tazni" ("Roses are still sad") performed by Slovenian simger Simona Weiss.Like an author he participated twice on Macedonian national seleciont for Eurovision:-1998, "Son"("Dream") - Monika Sokolovska.-2000, "Dali ti si ova nebo"("Are you this heaven") - Marjan Stojanoski.Throughout his career, he is recognised like an author of traditional folk songs , where the basic inspiration is Bitola, his native town.
