Kukuiaimakalani

Kukuiaimakalani

Kukuiaimakalani was Princess of Oahu or High Chiefess. She sometimes referred to as Kukuimakalani.

She was born the daughter of Kualiokinai, King of Oahu and Kauai [http://www.kekoolani.org/Pages/9053%20Kekoolani%20Genealogy%20Database/pafg13.htm#314 Hawaiian Genealogy of Kekoolani and Other Familes - pafg13 - Generated by Personal Ancestral File ] ] ; and to Kalanikahimakaialii. Her mother was a "Pio" chiefess being the daughter of Kaulahea II, King of Maui and his sister bride Kalaniomaiheuila, Princess of Maui. [Fornander p. 284] Her brothers were Kapiohookalani and Peleioholani, and her sister were Kaionuilanilalahai and Lonokahikini. She married her brother Peleioholani, who later became the king of Oahu and Kauai. She had a daughter with him and this little girl, Kalanipoo-a-Peleioholani, was therefore a sacred "Pio" child in the Hawaiian system of heraldty. Her daughter married Kaiakea, a Molokai chief and their son's Kekuelikenui was the grandfather of Abraham Fornander's wife. [Fornander p. 72-73] Other of Kukuiaimakalani's grandchildren were Kaakaupalalaka, born about 1787 in Honolulu, Hawaii; Kuluehu, born about 1781 in Honolulu, Hawaii; and Kolikoli, born about 1779.
