- Gustav Lorentzen (scientist)
Gustav Lorentzen (1915 - 1995) was a
thermodynamic scientist from Norway.
He was professor atNorwegian Institute of Technology thenNorwegian University of Science and Technology . In late end of the 1980s, Gustav Lorentzen came to idea again use of CO2 gas forrefrigerant to heating or cooling. He developed modernthermodynamic transcritical cycle in 1988-1991.In 1988, Lorentzen got an idea for a new, but simple and efficient way of regulating CO2 systems. This idea became the turning point in the re-invention of CO2 technology [ [http://www.shecco.com/about/history.php The rediscovery of CO2] SHECCO] . JapaneseDenso had knew Lorentzendissertation in 1993, then exchanged the letters to/from Lorentzen several times on CO2 gas forrefrigerant [ [http://www.denso.co.jp/ja/csr/environment/story/no3/1par.html Denso knew Lorentzen paper and recall letter to/from Lorentzen]Denso web site (in Japanese)] .
