Edward Ortalla Ramos

Edward Ortalla Ramos (b. October 25, 1987) is a Filipino table tennis player.

Biography

Edward, the second to the three siblings of Mr. & Mrs. Godofredo De Vera Ramos, Jr. His other two siblings are Joseph Ortalla Ramos and the youngest Victory Grace Ortalla Ramos. The three siblings studied at the Seventh-day Adventist Elementary School at General Santos City.

Edward started as a second player in Colegio de San Juan de Letran, where his brother Joseph was the Team Captain. Together with John Benedict Cruz, and Carlo Abadiano the Letran Junior's Team captured the 78th NCAA Table Tennis Tournament, the fourth straight Letran championship. Joseph Ortalla Ramos was named Most Outstanding Player. After his brother graduated, Edward named Most Outstanding Player for the next two NCAA tournaments, also capturing the two consecutive junior table tennis national title and making it to the ASEAN table tennis championship in Indonesia, Singapore, and Philippines. In the year 2005 he graduated and left Letran, after a year he entered De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde taking up Bachelor of Science, Hotel Restaurant and Institution Management (BS-HRIM) Major in Culinary Arts. He has two uncles who are active in table tennis namely; Jose C. Ortalla,Jr. is the new Table Tennis Association of the Philiipines (TATAP) Vice-President and PNP Table Tennis Team Manager, while Henberd C. Ortalla, is the Head Coach of the Philippine Table Tennis National Team and UST Table Tennis Team.
