Khaliya Aga Khan

Princess Khaliya Aga Khan is the wife of Prince Hussain Aga Khan and the daughter-in-law of Prince Karim Aga Khan (Aga Khan IV). Aga Khan IV is Imam and spiritual leader to approximately 15 million Ismaili Muslims.

Princess Khaliya works for the Aga Khan Development Network as a consultant, with particular emphasis on health. She was born in New York City in 1976 and is a United States citizen currently residing in Geneva, Switzerland.

Princess Khaliya received her Masters degree in Public Health at Columbia University.

Aside from her activities in health, she often works in tandem with her husband, Prince Hussain Aga Khan, on issues of import to the Aga Khan Development Network such as the Aga Khan Award for Architecture [http://www.akdn.org/agency/aktc_akaa.html] and the Aga Khan Historic Cities Program [http://www.akdn.org/agency/aktc_hcsp.html] .

Prince Hussain and Princess Khaliya were married at the Chateau de Chantilly in September of 2006.
