Sanjay Shah is a former
Kenya n national. In2004 he gave up hisKenyan passport and flew to the UK on aBritish Overseas citizen passport which permits temporary entry but not residence.He was then sent back to
Kenya where he staged a 13 month protest, living in the international area ofNairobi airport between the departure lounges and the immigration desks. He washed in the public lavatories and ate and drank gifts from cafe workers and travellers.
