Alexander Nemerov

Alexander Nemerov is a fictional character in "The Sum of All Fears". He is the newly-sworn-in President of the Russian Federation. Nemerov replaces President Zorkin after he dies suddenly after a press conference. Nemerov is married to a woman who he met in college. He received high honours in English as commented on by Jack Ryan

Nemerov is accused of dropping a bomb on Chechnya, which was actually done by a group of rogue Russian generals. He is a close friend of Bill Cabot. Nemerov later is accused when a nuclear bomb blows up in Baltimore and injures US President Fowler. He meets with his advisors but he is also accused of nearly sinking an American aircraft carrier. He is innocent but plans retaliation.

Thanks to Jack Ryan he is proven innocent but his government is shamed. He later signs a treaty with Fowler.
