KNVB Cup 2008-09

The KNVB Cup 2008-09 is the 91st season of the Dutch national football knockout tournament. The defending champions are Feyenoord. The competition started on August 30 2008 and will end with the Final held on May 17 2009.

Results

The first and second round draw was made on July 8 in Zeist [ [http://www.knvb.nl/archief/clubs/knvb.nl_clubs__competities/loting_eerste_en_tweede_ronde_knvb_beker_ KNVB website - Draw 2008-09] ] , KNVB headquarters.

The First Round featured 48 amateur teams. 35 of them are Hoofdklasse-clubs, 12 are 4th or lower league-clubs and 2 are reserve teams. 24 Hoofdklasse-clubs entered the competition through their last year's season (top 4 from each league), while the other half of the teams competing in the First Round secured their place through the 2007-08 district cups. The matches were played on August 30 and 31, 2008.
