Khakan Sajid (real name Muhammad Sajid) is a famous
Urdu short story writer from Pakistan. He was born on February 15, 1965 atWah , a small town near capital city ofIslamabad ,where his father Mirza Muhammad Saleem was appointed Railways Station Master. He acquired his early education atMalikwal andSargodha . Later,he joined Army as an officer and obtained his Bechelor of Engineering degree in Telecommunications fromMCS ,a cnstituent college ofNUST Islamabad..Khakan Sajid began writing short stories during his school days. His first story was published in February 1983 in a famous Urdu short story magzine. His genre include romance, realism, mystery and horror, sometimes all mixed in a single work. His best seller novel Champoon (2007) [Book Asia Stock List,www.bookasia.co.uk ] is the best example of his writing style. The author has also published a collection of horror stories titled Wahoosh (2006) [Urdu, Lancashire.gov.uk ] .A book containing his short stories has been published in current year (2008) under title name Adamzad . Besides writing his original stories,he has made valuable contribution in Urdu Literature [Urdu Literature Information, referance.findtarget.com ] by translating literary works of various Nobel Laureates and renowned American, English, Russian and French short story writers, in Urdu language. These translations have been published in four volumes. His other hobbies include painting,drawing cartoons, calligraphy and compering.Khakan Sajid is married and has two daughters. He resides intwin cities of Rawalpind-Islamabad.
