This species is found in shallow water on fine sandy bottoms, to depths of up to 40 m.
hell description
The shell is small and fragile, with a large
body whorl and a short spire. There is a thin yellowperiostracum although the the animal cannot fully retract into the shell.Coloration consists of two widely spaced narrow spiral lines around the middle of the body whorl, crossed by thin wavy widely spaced axial lines. Both the spral and the axial lines are bright scarlet, on a white background.
The shell height is up to 23 mm, and the width is up to 13 mm.
Life habits
The animal is blue, the foot and headshield bordered with iridescent greenish-blue.
