Pomponio State Beach

Pomponio State Beach is a beach located 12.5 miles south of Half Moon Bay and 2.5 miles east of Pescadero off State Route 1, California, USA.

This area provides access to miles of gently sloping, sandy beaches at the base of high sandstone bluffs. This day-use facility features a small lagoon, roaring surf - and a wide parking area, picnic tables, and barbecues.

* Connects to southern and northern beaches (depends on tide levels - be careful): Pescadero State Beach and San Gregorio State Beach.
* Nature preserve.
* The reserve is a refuge for blue heron, kite, deer, raccoon, fox, skunk, barn swallow, and weasel.
* Changing weather. Always bring a jacket.
* No dogs on beach. No camping. No beach fires.
* Includes hiking trails and easy access to the beach.
* Also hosts a lagoon throughout the year. The lagoon is safe to swim in unless otherwise noted at the entrance station.
* Considered a self-registered fee area, although there is a kiosk which is staffed during summer months
