Global Entry

Global Entry

Global Entry is a program being piloted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection that allows pre-approved, low-risk travelers to receive expedited clearance upon arrival into the United States.

Initially, the program is only in place at a limited number of international airports – John F. Kennedy International Airport (Terminal 4), Washington-Dulles International Airport, and George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

Participants use automated kiosks to gain clearance. The process require users to present their machine-readable U.S. passport or permanent residency card, submit their fingerprints for biometric verification, and make a customs declaration using the kiosk's touchscreen. Upon successful completion of the process, travelers are issued a transaction receipt and directed to baggage claim and the exit, unless chosen for a selective or random secondary referral.
