- Samuel Kirshbaum Knight
The Rt Rev Samuel Kirshbaum Knight was a
Suffragan Bishop from 1924 until his death in 1932. Born in 1868 and educated atTrinity College, Dublin he was ordained in 1892 [“Who was Who” 1897-1990 London, A & C Black, 1991 ISBN 071363457X] . His first post was as acurate atWardleworth after which he was successivelyPriest-in-charge at "St Paul’sBarking " andVicar of "St Mark’sNotting Hill " before being appointed aLecturer atKing's College London . In 1919 he moved to the North East to becoming theRural Dean for theHoughton-le-Spring area, then a Canon Residentiary atDurham Cathedral [The Times , Thursday, Jun 05, 1924; pg. 17; Issue 43670; col E Ecclesiastical News Durham Cathedral] and finally in 1924 theBishop of Jarrow .References
