Jackie Husband was a professional Scottish international footballer who was born May 28th 1918 in
Dunfermline ,Scotland . He signed forPartick Thistle in 1938 and, apart from a brief spell as manager ofQueen of the South , spent the rest of his adult life there. Husband spent 52 years at Partick Thistle, first as reserve player and progressing through roles as player, captain, trainer, coach, physio and kitman and was a regular at Firhill until days before his death in 1992.
His greatest triumph at Thistle came in 1945 where he captained the team to a win over
Hibernian F.C. to win the Summer Cup (the competition that replaced theScottish Cup during the war).Husband collected 3 caps for Scotland, but also played in another 2 unofficial internationals in 1945, before the official resumption of Scottish Football after the Second World War.
