He holds the European Record in the 4x100 m freestyle Short Course together withBas van Velthoven ,Mitja Zastrow andRobin van Aggele in 3:09.18 [http://www.lenweb.org/files_new/pdf_records/Short_Course_Records.pdf] swum during the World SC Championships 2008 inManchester they finished second in this event behind theUnited States who swum a world record in the same race. A few weeks before at theEuropean LC Championships 2008 inEindhoven he won the bronze medal in the 4x100 m Freestyle, where he splitted faster thanPieter van den Hoogenband who was later revealed suffered from theflu .
