498t pickups

The 498T humbucker alnico Pickups are made by Gibson, they are bridge pickups and are usually paired with the 490R neck humbuckers as in like the standard Gibson sg. The 498t humbuckers are similar to the '57 classics but deliver a slight increase in the upper mids and highs for the increased humbucking sound.

The 498t humbuckers are also sold in retailer stores and are mainly used for replacing pickups in a current gibsons or for upgrade. The current retail value is around 109.99 US dollars.

Most separately purchased 498T pickups are available with four-conductor wiring, allowing the coil-tap option.

A special edition SG, the Gibson SG goddess, discontinued in December of 2007, came with a 490R and 498T, both of which were coverless and had clear plastic covers, allowing the copper wire to be visible.
