8 January 1957 inWest Bromwich ) is an English former footballer and is currently the assistant manager at Doncaster Rovers.His playing career spanned a decade in the Football League where he played for Walsall, Port Vale and Grimsby Town. Richard finished his playing career in 1989 following a bad injury sustained playing for Grimsby Town, ironically against current club Doncaster Rovers. After finishing his playing career he remained at
Blundell Park as a youth team coach before moving to West Brom in 1994. He spent seven years atThe Hawthorns as youth team coach, and then six months at Aston Villa, before joining Hereford United in 2002 as assistant manager toGraham Turner .He was appointed assistant manager of Bournemouth in the summer of 2004 and two years later followed manager
