Joan E. Spero

Joan E. Spero

Joan Edelman Spero (born 1944) is President of the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and a former United States Ambassador to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (1980-81). She is a member of the American Academy of Diplomacy and was appointed a member of the Supervisory Board of the ING Group on April 22, 2008. Ms. Spero became an IBM director in 2004 and serves as a member of IBM's audit committee.
