Ghostly Talk is a weekly independent talk radio show about the paranormal, broadcast out of the "Haunted Winery" in Warren, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. It has been noted for its rare two part interview with George Lutz of Amityville Horror prior to his death and especially for the Brian Jones experiment, a first of its kind attempt in spirit communications, live on the air. The show premiered in February 2002.

how format

The show focuses on the "scientific and logical study of paranormal activities" through an open talk style with their guests. Most shows start with the hosts introducing the topic of the night along with news about the paranormal and their latest adventures in ghost hunting and speaking tours. Bringing what the shows hosts claim to be "common sense with uncommon topics" the show does not follow the traditional standard talk radio format of 'question and answer' but presents an informal 'chat' between host(s) and guest referred to as dinner party style.

In general, the shows format is::30 minutes for the co-hosts to do anything they like.:30 minutes guest or Field Reporter:60 minutes for guest #1:60 minutes for guest #2

Throughout the show bumper music plays several independent bands. These bands and their music are also downloadable at their website in a continuing effort to support independent media.

History of the show

Humble beginnings

Ghostly Talk was a first of its kind internet radio program broadcast in its debut to a total listening audience of "one computer" and "two people". The original show debuted with two hosts known simply as Doug, Scott L., at a time when paranormal talk radio was in its infancy. During the course of the next five years the show has expanded to include guest appearances of such leading paranormal personalities as: John Zaffis and Loyd Auerbach, George Lutz (of Amityville Horror) [http://www.amityvillehorror.com/] , Tom and Lisa Butler (technical consultants for the film White Noise (film)), Rosemary Ellen Guiley, and world renown spoon bender Uri Geller. [http://www.visionaryliving.com/calendar/index.php?action=display&id=43] Actor Sid Haig (House of 1000 Corpses and The Devils Rejects) has also appeared on the show.

Coast to Coast AM appearance

On August 26th, 2005, the crew of Ghostly Talk made their first appearance on "the worldsmost listened to late night talk show", Coast to Coast AM WITH George Noory whereDoug & Scott L showcased some of the evidence they have acquired over the last five years asparanormal investigators along with talking about some of their experiences as ghost hunters. They were heard by over twenty-five million listeners of COAST TO COAST AM that night. Brian Jones interviews

On October 9th, 2006 Ghostly Talk interviewed EVP and ITC researcher Brian Jones. During the course of the interview an apparent disincarnate voice was heard saying "October 9th is the Night" and repeating several times interrupting the guests with the word "Brian, Brian." The show was specifically set up to communicate with spirits based on a previous ITC which stated "October 9th is your night". These dramatic events, of note to the overall paranormal community; have sparked heated debate as to their meaning and the growing capacity for researchers into ITC.

Growth in notability

After interviews with leading paranormal investigators, including: Lorraine Warren and most recently Mark Macy (a leader in the ITC research field), the show has steadily expanded its reach, becoming the subject of note at conferences involving ghosts and other paranormal subjects. [http://virginiaghosts.com/publications/march_2006.pdf] As a result of growing notability the hosts have been invited to complete a presentation at the Mid Atlantic Paranormal Conference - Sponsored by the West Virginia Ghost Hunters [http://www.westvirginiaghosthunters.com/mapc.html] and to be the official "MC's" of the 2007 Mothman Festival [http://www.mothmanlives.com/] among other invitations of note. The hosts

The hosts of Ghostly talk had been interested in paranormal subjects since childhood. According to their biography; Doug Semig or Doug, had been interested in paranormal topics since checking out a book about witchcraft from his elementary school library. This sparked a lifelong love of the paranormal including such topics as: "out-of-body experiences, Edgar Cayce, ESP, prophesy, and ghosts". While surfing the internet in 2001, he was happy to learn that other folks actually went prowling about cemeteries and haunted places looking for ghosts. Since then, he has been an avid ghost hunter. Scott Lambert or Scott L., as he is known on Ghostly Talk radio, "became interested in the paranormal as a young child when he bought his first book 'Haunted Houses' by Larry Kettelkamp at a garage sale for $.25." This led to his life long interest in the paranormal. Both hosts put their paranormal interests on hold as they pursued college degrees.

It wasn't until Scott L. and Doug met that the two were able to pursue their radio program.

:"When I met Doug after doing a lot of Ghost Hunting and talking about the paranormal, he asked if I wanted to try to do an internet talk show on the subject(s), I jumped at the opportunity."

Today both men continue the radio program heard from 6pm to 9pm EST every Sunday in addition to participating in an increasing list of paranormal conferences.

Currently, Bonnie Spittler monitors the shows chat room that runs live during the show while hooked up to the show where she has the ability to join any discussion or ask questions on behalf of chat room guests.
