In2000 he moved toRussia to play for Spartak Moscow, but made just 12 appearances, scoring 5 goals before moving toEngland later that same year to play for Fulham in theFA Premier League . In four years at the club he played just 25 matches, scoring two goals.In
2004 he moved toFootball League One club, Yeovil Town, scoring four goals in 36 matches, and on8 July 2005 moved toAzerbaijan to play forFK Baku on a free transfer. In2006 he returned to Latvia to once again play forSkonto FC . And in2007 he moved to his first club, JFK Olimps Rīga.International career
His international debut came in a 0-0 draw against Denmark on
26 August 1992 . Since then, he has represented his country 81 times and scored seven goals. He played in the 2004 European Championships, held inPortugal .Now he's player and assistant coach both in one to JFK Olimps Rīga club.
