Maciej Janowski (born August 9 1991 in Wrocław, Poland [http://www.janowski.speedwayteam.com/o.php www.janowski.speedwayteam.com] . Retrieved on 2008-07-04.] ) is a Polish speedway rider who is a member of Poland U-21 and U-19 national teams. He is current Team U-21 World Champion, Individual U-21 Polish Champion and Individual U-19 European Vice-Champion.

His parents are Piotr and Beata. He have two brothers Wojciech and Krzysztof.

Career History

2007

Janowski past speedway licency ("Licencja "Ż") on August 7 2007 as 15 years old; two days before 16th birthdays. 5 days later (as 16 years old) he rode in his first meeting in Polish Ekstraliga (Wrocław vs Rzeszów 48:42). In his first heat, he beat Rzeszów' rider Andreas Messing from Sweden [ [http://www.wts.pl/index.php?id=zawodnik7 www.wts.pl] . Retrieved on 2008-07-04.] . His fourth meeting was Turnnament of Junior National Team Reservs ("Turniej zaplecza kadry juniorów"). He was won qualification to U-19 Bronze Helmet Final; Janowski was 13th (he was only 16 years old). With Atlas Wrocław he started in European Club Champions' Cup Final - Janowski scored 5 points, but Atlas was last.

2008

In 2008 season (as 17 years old) he started in Team U-19 European Championship Final. He was the best rider in Poland team (15 points), but Poland was last in home track (Rawicz). In August he won Individual U-21 Polish Championship in Rybnik. In Individual U-19 European Championship Final was second; lost with Artur Mroczka from Poland. In September he was the best rider in Poland team and he won Team U-21 World Champion title. He was 2nd in Polish Bronze Helmet Final (U-19). His last honour in this season was winnig in Polish Silver Helmet Final (U-21).

He was nominated as 2nd track reserve at 2008 Speedway Grand Prix of Poland in Bydgoszcz, but he did not rode any heat.
