DZLT (1188 kHz Lucena City) is an AM radio station owned and operated by the Radio Corporation of the Philippines. Its studio and transmitter are located in Barangay Ibabang Dupay, Lucena City, Quezon, and it has the distinction of being the oldest radio station in southern Luzon.

History

DZLT was conceived by Quezon Representative Manuel S. Enverga as a means to provide radio service to the province of Quezon. To fulfill this aim, Enverga founded the Luzon Broadcasting Corporation, taking advantage of a broadcast license issued to Luzonian Colleges (today the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation) by Congress through Republic Act No. 2354. The station opened on March 23, 1960, with President Carlos P. Garcia, First Lady Leonila Garcia and Senator Gil Puyat being present at the station's opening.

Live news reporting began in 1965. However, the station was ordered shut with the imposition of martial law on September 21, 1972, subsequently re-opening on October 20. Ownership of the station would transfer from the Enverga family to the Radio Corporation of the Philippines, owned by Eduardo Cojuangco.

DZLT's transmitter was knocked down twice by typhoons: the most recent one by Typhoon Xangsane (Milenyo) in 2006.
