Gary Horan

Gary Horan

Gary Horan is a long time politician and small business man from Edmonton, Alberta.

Gary Horan was an Progressive Conservative Party organizer for 22 years in the Edmonton area . Gary joined the Alberta Alliance Party, because he felt the party had left him behind, his actual quote was, "I did not leave the P.C. party, it left me." He also felt the party was increasingly ignoring the grass roots, and becoming off track. His departure was one of two big coups in early 2004 for the Alliance party, when him and Oscar Lacombe the former Sergent at arms for the Alberta Legislature joined the party.

Gary became President of the Alberta Alliance Party when he joined in early 2004 until May 2005, when he did not seek re-election. Due to an Alberta Alliance constitutional clause, he held a seat on the provincial council as Past President.

Gary is also a self employed businessman in the Jewelry Industry.

Gary ran as one of three Alberta Alliance candidates in the 2004 Senate nominee election, finishing 10th place and taking in 154,655 votes and 7.2%. The other two candidates were Vance Gough and Michael Roth.

In May 2006 Horan returned to the Progressive Conservatives to work for Lyle Oberg's leadership campaign, his return to the PC Party was announced in the Legislative Assembly during Guest Introductions.
