ESPN career
Funston started his career with
Starwave and eventually moved to ESPN. While with ESPN he became the lead analyst, along with Eric Karabell, for all of ESPN's fantasy coverage. He was known as "the Gamer" while writing forESPN The Magazine . He also became the network's first on-air fantasy sports personality.
