Bohuslav Fuchs (
24 March 1895 in Všechovice –18 September 1972 inBrno ) was a Czech modernistarchitect .A mason by education, he studied at
Academy of Arts in Prague in 1916-1919 byJan Kotěra and then he worked in Kotěra's atelier for two years. From 1922 he resided inBrno , where he worked at city construction office and later (from 1929) in his own atelier. In 1947-1958 Fuchs was a professor of architecture atBrno University of Technology . He participated in several professional associations abroad (e. g. BritishRIBA ). His projects, realized mainly inBrno , were influenced predominantly byfunctionalism .Major works in Brno
