"Xymene warreni" is a species of predatory sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Muricidae, the rock snails or murex snails.

Distribution

This murex species is endemic to the west coast of the South Island of New Zealand.

Habitat

This snail is found at depths of about 40 m.

hell description

The shell resembles "Xymene ambiguus" but is smaller, with more numerous regular spiral cords, and very weak axials.

Coloration is pale yellowish.

Height is up to 20 mm, and width up to 11.7 mm.
