Vadim Kosmatschof

Vadim Kosmatschof (born 1938, in Kaluga, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union) is a sculptor and painter. He immigrated to Germany in 1979 and has since lived and worked in Wiesbaden. Specializing in monumental sculpture, his work is publicly displayed in a number of large European cities. His 1987 sculpture "Kugelstoßer" or "Shotputter" is displayed in Mainz, Germany.

The State Russian Museum, St. Petersburg, is preparing a major retrospective of his work. The exhibition is scheduled to open in Spring 2008.
