Romanize d as Jrarrat and Dzhrarat; formerly, Gharkhun, Verin Karkhun, and Verkhniy Karkhun) is a town in the Armavir Province ofArmenia . The town has a large poultry industry and nearby is land reserved for the cochineal dye beetles, "Porphyrophora hamelii ".
