Azat ( _hy. Ազատ, also Romanized as Azad; until 1935, Ağkilsə) is a village in the Gegharkunik Province of Armenia. The town has a ruined 11th century church.The village is home to famous Azerbaijani folklore poet Ashug Alesker (1821-1826).

All Azerbaijani habitants of the village fled to Azerbaijan in 1988-89 in the course of Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict.
