The synchronized Pledge Across America is conducted each year on September 17th -
Constitution Day . Pledge Across America is the nationally synchronized recitation of thePledge of Allegiance in schools. In 2001 shortly afterSeptember 11 the President of the United States and the Secretary of Education and both Senate and House joined over 52 million students in the synchronized Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.September 17 2008 will mark the 17th year the Pledge Across America takes place. And 117 years since Frances Belemy wrote and first recited the Pledge of Allegiance in 1892.Paula Burton, Chairman of the Board and Founder of Celebration U.S.A., is the visionary force behind Celebration U.S.A., and the annual synchronized "Pledge Across America" held on Constitution Day, September 17th. Paula is a naturalized citizen whose enthusiasm, and great love of country have enhanced her student's ability to see the world and their country with a greater appreciation. In 1992 Paula Burton honored the 100th anniversary of
Francis Belemy ’s Pledge of Allegiance with the first annual “Pledge Across America”, the nationally synchronized recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance in schools. Paula continues to take great pleasure in presenting Celebration USA's materials to the many other educators who will share it with students across the country. Paula has been recognized at local, state, and national levels for her educational contributions.Grant Chambers, President of Celebration U.S.A., has been instrumental in orchestrating the overall operations and promotion of Pledge Across America since 2008.
Matt Wright, Director of Information Technology and Privacy, organizes the Internet presence, promotion, and marketing for Celebration U.S.A. and Pledge Across America.
