WCW
WWA|Sting and Lex Luger was a
professional wrestling tag team that consisted inJim Crockett Promotions (JCP), which later becameWorld Championship Wrestling (WCW) andWorld Wrestling All-Stars (WWA). The team debuted in1988 and disbanded in2002 . The team was one of the few in WCW history that didn't take a "gimmick name", the name was devised simply by naming the participants (Sting andLex Luger ).History
Early days
Sting and
Lex Luger first teamed up in1988 after Luger found himself without a tag team partner for the 1988 Crockett Cup in the wake of former partnerBarry Windham turning on Luger and taking Luger's old spot inThe Four Horsemen andRon Garvin 's injury. They won the NWA Jim Crockett Sr. Memorial Cup Tournament and would periodically team up in between their careers as singles competitors. Their team was seemingly defunct after Luger turned heel in 1989, but Sting was also the cause of Luger's face turn in 1990, as Luger replaced Sting as the #1 contender for Flair's NWA World Title while Sting was out with a knee injury. Luger later won the championship twice. They teamed up again as part of the
Dudes With Attitudes inWorld Championship Wrestling to battle The Four Horsemen in1990 . They did not form a regular team again at this point, although they would pair up occasionally, most notably to challenge theSteiner Brothers for the WCW World Tag Team Championship at the first SuperBrawl. The two would feud again in1991 whenRic Flair left WCW for the World Wrestling Federation and Luger turned heel while winning the vacant WCW World Heavyweight Championship. Sting won theWCW World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Luger atSuperBrawl onFebruary 29 ,1992 .WCW
The next time they teamed was in August
1995 in WCW when Luger made a shocking return to "WCW Monday Nitro ". Sting was helpingHulk Hogan and "Macho Man" Randy Savage in their feud with The Four Horsemen and theDungeon of Doom and Luger joined up. Luger bickered with Savage and Hogan and Sting always had to keep the peace. AtWCW World War 3 onNovember 26 , Luger joinedJimmy Hart and turned heel when he attacked Hogan. He continued his team with Sting and they won the
WCW World Tag Team Championship onJanuary 22 ,1996 when they defeatedHarlem Heat . During their reign, Luger was a heel and Sting was a face. When they would enter the ring, Sting would slap hands with the fans and so would Luger, while Sting was watching that is. As soon as Sting would quit watching, Luger would keep his hands away from the fans as if he were disgusted by them. This type of behavior continued in the ring too. Luger would cheat and Sting would not appreciate it. So Luger started cheating when Sting didn't know and that gave their opponents even more anger at them and Sting usually didn't know why.
During their reign, they feuded with Harlem Heat and the
Road Warriors . They finally lost the titles onJune 24 , 1996 to Harlem Heat when The Outsiders caused a distraction at ringside.nWo
Their team ended in September 1996 when Luger believed that Sting joined the
nWo . In reality, it was The nWo Sting and Sting soon turned his back on Luger. They eventually made peace when Sting saved Luger from a gang attack by the nWo.
They both joined the nWo Wolf Pac in the summer of
1998 when the nWo split and teamed together occasionally. This was short-lived as the Wolf Pac fell apart due to injuries.Final WCW Teaming Days
They teamed again in the spring of
1999 to feud withTeam Madness andBret Hart . Luger turned on Sting in November 1999 and they feuded but were back together again when theMillionaires Club was formed in2000 to feud with theNew Blood . When this angle fell apart, their team was finished in WCW.Post WCW

2002 , Luger and Sting briefly teamed together inWorld Wrestling All-Stars until Luger turned on him starting another feud over theWWA World Heavyweight Championship .Championships/Accomplishments
