Renata Soñé is an model/actress and former beauty queen from the Dominican Republic who has competed at the Miss Universe pageant.

Renata De Jesus Soñé Savery was born August 1982,in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic to Maria Teresa Savery and Raymond Soñé. Unfortunately, six months later her mother dies from undetected heart problems and her father leaves Renata in the care of her grandparents. This loss in her life seems to be the source of her desire to work and help the abandoned children of the Dominican Republic and thus she pursued a Degree in Clinical Psychology. After completing her studies, Soñé was sought out by Ossygeno Model Management owner, Sandro Guzman who convinced her to participate in the Miss Dominican Republic Pageant.

Soñé won the Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2005 title representing the province were the capital is located, Distrito Nacional. She went on to compete in the Miss Universe 2005 pageant held in Bangkok, Thailand, where she finished second runner-up to Natalie Glebova of Canada.

When she was asked about her long term career goals during the pageant's final interview round, she replied
* "I want to be a model for international designers and recognized magazines. I am also very anxious to create a children's institute to continue my interests as a psychologist. I also believe that competing in such a prestigious contest as the Miss Universe will help me achieve my goals, because of the important people I will meet and the experience I will gain"'. Her reign as Miss Dominican Republic came to an end on December 18, 2005 when she crowned Mía Taveras López, delegate of Santiago, as her successor.

Prior to winning the national title pageant, Renata had a semi-professional career as a model. She appeared in several Dominican fashion periodicals prior to jump starting her professional modeling and acting careers. Soñé has been the official face of the Pantene shampoo in an advertising campaign in the Dominican Republic. She also made her screen debut in the Dominican film "Un Macho de Mujer" (2006), which starred Venezuelan television host Daniel Sarcos. She currently hosts a dating-sort-of show named "Cupido" (Cupid) since March 2008.

Trivia

* Renata is the first Dominican woman to reach the third place position in the Miss Universe beauty pageant; the only Dominican contestant that has had a better performance in that pageant was Amelia Vega, who won the title in 2003.
* Was married on June 14, 2006 to Eduardo Guerra Gutierrez.
* Gave birth to a son, Ignacio de Jesus Guerra Soñé in December 2006.
* Soñé appears in the Miss Universe Organization's book 'Universal Beauty' as the contestant with the best body in the history of the pageant.
