(1971)"Steppenwolf 7" is an album by the band Steppenwolf, released in 1970 (see
1970 in music ), and their fifth studio recording forDunhill Records . It is the first Steppenwolf album with new bass player George Biondo. While the album featured Steppenwolf's trademark rock and roll sounds, none of the songs were able to make the Top 40. The album featured a classic cover ofHoyt Axton 's "Snowblind Friend", their second cover of one of his anti-drug songs (the first being the famous "The Pusher"). Besides that, most of the album is now considered to be among Steppenwolf's best material, with tracks such as "Who Needs Ya," "Renegade," and "Hippo Stomp" standing out as often-mentioned additions to their catalog.Track listing
