Peter Newsam

Peter Newsam

Sir Peter Newsam is an English educationist.

He was chairman of the Commission for Racial Equality from 1981 to 1985, and chief education officer for the Inner London Education Authority from 1975 to 1981. [ [http://www.runnymedetrust.org/projects/past-projects/meb/the-commission.html Runnymede Trust] ]

He later served as Chief Schools Adjudicator from 1999 to 2002.

Newsam authored the biography of Alec Clegg in the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography.
