Grinding chain

Grinding chain

When young people dance and rub their pelvises together, what they are doing is creating a Grinding Chain, or using the "grind technique". Sometimes a group of people start grinding together. Usually it's a mix of men and women alternating, or just women. Sometimes two women will "sandwich" a man, and others latch on. [ [http://www.wikihow.com/Grind How to Grind - wikiHow ] ]

Grinding has been described as "sexual yet harmless" or "It's a natural high, but sometimes a guilty one because of how much your parents would disapprove. Your mother had said, 'Inches apart! You shouldn't give up your body like that.'" [ [http://www.salon.com/mwt/feature/2007/11/07/teen_girls/index1.html Teenage girls: The next generation of American writers | Salon Life ] ]

Some chaperones at prom insist on a 'one or two inch' gap between grinders. Although this is seen by some as spoiling the entire ethos behind grinding, others describe it as 'a far better solution than not letting us grind at all' [ [http://www.uni.uiuc.edu/og/2007/04/column_grind_on_me.htm Column: Will chaperones grind away the fun at prom? | Online Gargoyle ] ]
