Joseph M. Stowell, III

Joseph M. Stowell III is the president of Cornerstone University and the author of over 20 Christian books.

An internationally recognized conference speaker, Dr. Stowell's life is marked by a deep love for Jesus, which is reflected in his desire to value people regardless of gender, race, or class; to aid the poor and marginalized; to build a strong and vibrant community where the presence of Christ is evident; and to govern and lead in ways that engender mutual confidence and trust. Prior to accepting the presidency at Cornerstone, Dr. Stowell served as Teaching Pastor at Harvest Bible Chapel in suburban Chicago. He will continue that role through 2008.

Dr. Stowell also works with RBC (Radio Bible Class) Ministries in Grand Rapids, partnering in media productions. His Web ministry, "Strength for the Journey", features daily devotionals, weekly messages and commentary, downloadable Bible study curriculum, and an audio library of his most requested messages. He serves on the Board of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and has a distinguished career in higher education and church leadership. From 1987-2005, he served as the president of Moody Bible Institute. He is a graduate of Cedarville University and Dallas Theological Seminary (1970) [http://www.dts.edu/utility/file.aspx?id=89] and was honored with a doctor of divinity degree from The Master's College in 1987. Dr. Stowell and his wife Martie are the parents of three adult children and ten grandchildren.
