Jodie Ferneyhough

Jodie Ferneyhough is the current (as of 2008) President of the Canadian Music Publishers Association and Creative Director for Universal Music Publishing Canada.

He worked as an artist manager, festival booker and promoter, tour agent, product buyer and warehouse clerk, before beginning his music publishing career in 1989. He eventually was named as Director of Canadian Operations for Universal. In 2001, Ferneyhough was brought to Universal Music Publishing Group.

He has worked with Sam Roberts, KOS, Theory of a Deadman, Mobile as well as such established Canadian musicians as Jann Arden, Shania Twain, Daniel Lavoie and Avril Lavigne. His artists have also been nominated for and received Juno Awards, East Coast Music Awards, SOCAN Awards, Country Music Awards, Much Music Video Awards and Grammy Awards.

He was named Canadian Music Publisher of the Year at the 2003 and 2005 CCMAs, as well as Publisher of the Year at the annual CMW Industry Awards in 2005.

Ferneyhough has lectured at the Harris Institute for the Arts, theTrebas Institute for the Arts, the Canadian Design Academy and at Osgoode Law School. He has been a guest speaker and panelist at the Canadian Music Week and NxNE Festivals in Toronto, the East Coast Music Awards, the Music West Festival in Vancouver, the CMJ in New York City and Concrete Foundations in Los Angeles.
