August 29 ,1940 inLafourche Parish, Louisiana ) was anAmerican football running back who playedcollege football at LSU and played in the NFL from 1962 to 1970.After finishing at LSU, Gros was drafted in the 1st round of the
1962 NFL Draft by theGreen Bay Packers and in the 2nd round of the1962 American Football League Draft by theHouston Oilers . Gros decided to go to the NFL, where he played three seasons with theGreen Bay Packers (1962-1964), two seasons with thePhiladelphia Eagles (1964-1965), and three seasons with thePittsburgh Steelers (1967-1969). In 1970, Gros played one game with theNew Orleans Saints .Gros finished his career with 821 rushes for 3,157 yards (an average of 3.8 yards per rush) and 28 touchdowns. He also had 142 receptions for 1,255 yards (an average of 8.8 yards per reception) and 10 touchdowns.
