Filippo de' Medici

Filippo de' Medici

Filippo de' Medici (May 20, 1577 – March 29, 1582) was the youngest child of Francesco I de' Medici and Johanna of Austria. His mother died in 1578 when he was only one year old. His father then married Bianca Capello. It is believed that Bianca and Francesco poisoned Johanna. Filippo was one of seven children, but only two of the children survived till adulthood, Eleonora de' Medici and Marie de' Medici (who became queen consort of France). He had another sister called Anna de' Medici who died aged fourteen. Filippo died on the March 29, 1582; he was only three years old.
