Helma Orosz [ˈoros] (born
11 May 1953 inGörlitz ) is a Germanpolitician and member of the CDU. She was the Saxon State Minister for Social Affairs between 2003 and 2008. She won the election of the Oberbürgermeister inDresden in June 2008 and assumed this office on1 August 2008 . She is the successor ofIngolf Roßberg respectively Lutz Vogel.Profession

Orosz jointed the

She was called byGeorg Milbradt into his first cabinet at 10 Juli 2003 where she became Saxon State Minister for Social Affairs. Current SaxonMinister-President Stanislaw Tillich confirmed her in that office in June 2008.She was nominated by the CDU of Saxony to regain the Oberburgomaster office of the Saxon capital. Her candidateship was confirmed by the party congress of the Dresden CDU in 2007. Helma Orosz won the election in a second voting with a two-thirds compliance while voter's participation was little.
