South Union Missionary Baptist Church is located at 805 S.Dorrance St. Palestine,Texas. It was founded in the year 1890 in a small two room house on S. Royall St. in Palestine, Texas by the Rev Dr. R.H.Boyd later the founder of Body Publishing Company in Nashville,Tennessee. In the year2004 aTexas Historcal Marker was unveiled, naming South Union Missionary Baptist Church as the oldest black church in the South part of Palestine, Texas.
