Randy Jo Hobbs (
22 March ,1948 -5 August ,1993 ) was an American musician born inWinchester, Indiana . Hobbs played bass forThe McCoys during the 1965-1969 period and in the bands of the brothersEdgar Winter andJohnny Winter during 1970-1974. While with Johnny Winter, he was married to Sara, at a wedding receiving signficant media attention due to the attendance of Johnny Winter,Rick Derringer , Derringer's brother Randy Zehringer (both with Hobbs in The McCoys and with Johnnny Winter), plus Steve Paul of Blue Sky Records. He was found dead of drug-related heart failure in a hotel room inDayton ,Ohio in 1993 and is buried in his home town of Union City,Indiana .References
