- Supmeca
The Institut Superieur de Mecanique - Supmeca - is a french mechanical engineering school. The school is an active member of the Polymeca network and makes a part of the ENSI (Ecole Nationale Superieure d'Ingenieur) school group. Created in 1948 with the initiative of both the Mechanical Industries Federation and the National Education Ministry, Supmeca is a public school specialised in research and scientific teachings.
Supmeca has two facilities in France:¤ Supmeca Paris: 3, Rue Fernand Hainaut, 93407, Saint-Ouen
¤ Supmeca Toulon: Place Georges Pompidou, Quartie Mayol, 83000, Toulon.
Since 1956 in Paris and 1994 in Toulon, the school provides all his students with the national engineer degree. The acceptance in the school is made according with particular French criteria: after highschool two years of intense scientific studies are necessary to pass several competitive exams. Then a student will be accepted in Supmeca regarding his results to a particular competitive exam.
The engineering formation in Supmeca combines a solid scientific base with a unique industrial experience. Indeed during three years of formation every student needs to accomplish at least 52 weeks of internship in an industrial context. The teachings deliver a necessary and important knowledge in mechanical technology but also in economical, social and human sciences. A compulsory of two foreign languages (always including English) is needed during the three years of formation to enable the future engineers to work in the actual globalization context. The third year, the students are asked to choose a specialisation. They can decide to get oriented in different options such as:- Materials and Processes (MP).
- Production Systems.
- Mecatronique.
- Structures and Mechanical Assemblies.
- Conception and Mechanical Systems.
- Mecatronic and complex Systems.
Supmeca has also numeral partnerships with other french schools and foreign universities and a third external year of study is a possibility as well.References
