Two Wrongs Don't Make a Right

Two Wrongs Don't Make a Right

"Two Wrongs Don't Make a Right" is a bluesy-styled ballad written by Berry Gordy and Smokey Robinson and recorded by Motown star Mary Wells as the b-side to Wells' popular single, "Laughing Boy".

ong information

This song has the narrator pleading to her lover not to repeat the same mistakes that she's repeated after she was caught cheating on him basically warning the man if he was to ever "turn her away" that she'll just tell him "two wrongs don't make a right" just to prove a point begging him to take her back and promising him that she'll never make the same mistake again.

Charts

Released during Wells' moment as one of Motown Records' most popular recording artists, the record got some additional radio play as its a-side did. The song eventually peaked at number 100 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song featured a rougher Wells vocal prominent in Wells' album tracks and earlier hit releases. Ironically this song was co-written by Wells' main producer at the time, Smokey Robinson.
