The American Dagger Moth ("Acronicta americana") is a moth of the family Noctuidae. It is distributed through the whole of North-America.

The wingspan is 50 to 65 mm. The adults fly from April to September.

The larvae feed mainly on Hawthorn and sometimes also Blackthorn.
