Kyle Pearson

Kyle Pearson (born October 8, 1984 in Panama City, Florida) is a minor league baseball pitcher in the Detroit Tigers organization.

The Pittsburgh Pirates drafted Pearson straight out of high school in the fourth round and assigned him the Gulf Coast Pirates in Bradenton, Florida. In 2005 the Pirates promoted Pearson to the single-A Hickory Crawdads of the South Atlantic League. Amid a mediocre year for the Crawdads Pearson went 2-10 with an ERA of 6.10. By the end of the year Pearson was shifted to a relief role and notched his first save. Pearson returned to the Crawdads in 2006 as a starter and went 3-4 with an ERA of 5.46. The start of the 2007 season found Pearson back with the Crawdads as a relief pitcher, where he 1-3 with a 3.43 ERA in 23 appearances before being promoted to the Lynchburg Hillcats. For his performance with the Crawdads in 2007 Pearson was named to the South Atlantic League's all-star squad. Pearson stated the 2008 season with the double-A Altoona Curve, but struggled through five appearances with an ERA of 7.00 and was sent back to the Hillcats, where he saved four games but his ERA remained high. On June 25, 2008 he was traded to the Detroit Tigers for relief pitcher Denny Bautista.
