Perhaps best known for his award-winning
music video work while on the roster of A Band Apart and Propaganda Films, both in Los Angeles, in June 2008 Patrick Kiely teamed with directors Adam Kerscher and Allan Vajda to form "A3" [ [http://www.a3films.com A3 Films] ] , a new boutique production company that will bring expertise directing advertising, network promotion/branding and new media projects of all budgets to the creative marketplace.A native of Southern California, Kiely made his first film at the age of 17. Film school followed, and he soon leaped into production, producing commercials for the likes of Saturn and
American Express . In 1997 he opened his own shop, LOGIC, whose first project, the music video for theBackstreet Boys ‘Quit Playing Games With My Heart,’ put it on the map and paved the way for Kiely’s own directorial debut;Sweetbox ’s “Say Captain, Say What” (Warner Bros. Records Germany ). Over the next three years he would direct over 50 music videos.In 1999 Kiely signed with
A Band Apart , followed by Propaganda in 2001. His eye for striking visuals and memorable characters resulted in such music videos asSmile Empty Soul 's ‘Bottom of a Bottle’, voted top rock video onFuse TV andMTV2 ;A*Teens ‘Dancing Queen,’ andLost Prophets ‘Burn Burn’ whose album peaked at #4 in the UK.In 2002, Kiely relaunched LOGIC focusing on advertising and network promotion spots. His work included spots for
Direct TV andDiscovery Channel ’s “American Chopper.” It was around this time he forged a creative relationship with the agency, Viewpoint Creative, based inBoston andLos Angeles . Through them he helmed spots for an array of entertainment and lifestyle brands includingHBO ,Disney Channel , Hallmark andMattel . He has also directed numerous co-branded spots for such brands as Kellogg’s,Hidden Valley Ranch ,Ritz Crackers ,Pizza Hut ,Honey Bunches of Oats ,Cepacol , andOreo .In addition, his keen sense of character and storytelling can also be found in the movie Stark Raving Mad (
