Princess Caroline Amalia of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg, later the Queen of Denmark. Caroline Amalia was the daughter of Duke
Friedrich Christian of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg andLouise Auguste of Denmark , the daughter of Danish KingChristian VII .She marriedChristian VIII in 1815 after his separation from his first wife in 1809 and after his resignation asKing of Norway in 1814. This meant that he could devote himself to the sciences, to mineralogy and geology in particular. During the 1818-1822 years she undertook at the side of her spouse numerous trips through Europe. After the death of his cousin Friedrich VI in 1839, Christian became King of Denmark. Consequently making Caroline Amalia Queen of Denmark until her husbands death in 1848. She participated in many social and humanitarian projects, especially with the equipment of orphanages.Sucession
