Glen Adsit is an American
conductor andmusic educator .Born in Michigan, he was educated at Plymouth High School in
Canton, Michigan and received a bachelor's degree in music education and trombone performance and a masters degree in wind conducting from theUniversity of Michigan , where he studied withH. Robert Reynolds . After teaching for seven years in the Michigan public schools system, he became director of thePlymouth Centennial Marching Band from 1989-1994, which, during his tenure, was a two-time Bands of America Grand National Champion. In 1994, he was appointed the Associate Director of Bands at theUniversity of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico.An advocate of
new music , he is the founder of the National Wind Ensemble Consortium Group, which has over 50 member schools with a mission to commission the world’s finest composers to write for wind ensemble. The group consists of Board members,Leonard Slatkin ,Philip Smith , Fran Richards,Joseph Schwantner , H. Robert Reynolds, Jerry Junkin, Mike Haithcock, and Eric Rombach-Kendall.
